Lacryma Christi was produced in ancient times by certain monks whose convent stood on the slopes of Vesuvius. The presence of Vesuvius has had a decisive influence on the mineralogical richness of the entire area, and consequently on the fruits of the earth which transmits its characteristics, its flavors through the nourishment of the plants rooted in it.
Taurasi is a wine that has its origins in the pre-Roman age: the main vine from which this wine is produced, Aglianico, was once called "Hellenic" to underline its Greek origins. From these origins also derives the surname "Taurasi" linked to the history and nobility of the village. The etymology of the name "Taurasi" is to be found in Taurasia, a small wine village that the Romans made their own after defeating the Irpinia, in 80 AD. . It is currently vinified with the most modern technologies, but always with respect for tradition, so that it is one of the very few Italian wines that requires three years of aging, one of which in chestnut or oak barrels. After four years of aging, it can boast the qualification of "Riserva".

The name Falanghina, according to some, probably derives from the Greek falangos, a term adopted and then translated by the Latins into phalange or support pole to which the vines were tied according to a still widespread system. What is certain is that the origins of the autochthonous vine date back to Greek-Balkan stocks, and that it was introduced in Sannio, mostly in Campania, by the pelagic people of the Aminei. Despite the etymology of the vine and its somewhat mysterious origins, Falanghina is a very ancient variety that was certainly already cultivated in Roman times; it is no coincidence that some scholars have stated that Falanghina descends from the ancient Falernum Gauranum or white Falerno del Gàuro, known as the "wine of the emperors", also praised by Pliny the Elder, Horace, Virgil, Cicero.
