Aglianico del Vulture is a Lucanian red wine which, thanks to its elegant body, is called the Barolo of the south. Aglianico is a millenary vine that arrived in Italy thanks to the Greek colonists starting from the 8th century BC. At the time of Magna Graecia the vine was vinified in white; subsequently it gave rise to a red wine, ancestor of the current one. It is a wine that has been able to combine harmony and balance with its power. It is produced with grapes grown on the slopes of the volcano of the same name.

About Borgo San Michele
Borgo San Michele company produces its wines in Montefusco (Av) on the green hills among the two districts of the Campania region, Irpinia and Sannio, in an area with fertile soil, volcanic in nature and with an excellent sun exposure. The precious vineyards enhance this territory and all descend from ancient Hellenic and Latin vines. The careful study of these native varieties and their particular grapes has been the primary objective of the company, aware that the cultivation of the vine is a complex art that requires technical competence, passion and dedication, constantly supporting the winemakers in all phases of production, from the demanding research in the laboratory to the budding up to the festive harvest days.
In the cellar, a place where tradition and technology meet with rationalized winemaking, the important production milestone is achieved in the long and fascinating history of our wines, which began with the budding of the vines and crowned with the manual harvest, in full compliance with the Methods that guarantee the uniqueness and inimitable wines from Campania. The Borgo San Michele company offers a wide range of Campanian wines such as : the excellent DOC Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino, Sannio Falanghina, Sannio Aglianico; the famous DOCG Taurasi; and finally the quality sparkling wines, Greco Brut, Fiano Demi Sec and Aglianico rosé.
